Wilfried Zaha has revealed that after a Premier League goal drought, Crystal Palace boss Alan Pardew demanded a return to basics ahead of Saturday's win over West Bromwich Albion.
Yannick Bolasie and Yohan Cabaye from the penalty spot saw off the Baggies at Selhurst Park 2-0 to lift the Eagles to fourth in the table.
Bolasie's header was the first time the Eagles have scored from open play in four league games, leading to Pardew's plea.
Zaha said: "The gaffer said that we need to take our chances going forward, because there is no point in being a full-back every time and not putting a ball in, or being a striker having shots and not scoring.
"I am glad we managed to get our goals and get the win."
