Dartford FC's honorary life president Mike Brett-Smith sadly died this week.
He had been involved with the club in some capacity since the early 1950s, was a member of the Supporters' Association committee and once the club's programme editor, in addition to contributing to Dartford's centenary handbook and original club history book.
Brett-Smith was also one of the founding directors of Dartford FC limited, and rumours persist that he re-mortgaged his house to help the club through financial difficulties.
When he retired as a director, he was made honorary life president.
