Neil Harris has admitted he’s still learning the ropes as manager of Millwall, but insisted he’s enjoying every part of the job.

The 38-year-old, who is the club’s all-time record goal-scorer, was appointed in March 2015 following the high-profile departure of Ian Holloway.

Other than a brief spell as caretaker in 2014 and a stint as head of the Lions’ U21 team, this is Harris’ first managerial role since hanging up his boots in 2013.

The Millwall legend has frequently stated that his side are still learning, and when asked whether the same is applicable to his role, Harris replied: “Absolutely. I’m learning every minute of every day.

“We’re a new squad under a new manager - we’ve got new staff too so of course we’re all learning all the time.

“And I’m loving it, I’m really open-minded and so are the staff.

“Every training session, every meeting we have, every match-day is a learning curve for me and the team.

“And it’s how you use that knowledge to make you better as an individual and as a team, that’s the key.

“We’re definitely on the up and have some momentum; we’re still taking small steps and building the squad.

“We’re all still striving to be better, we’re playing well and getting good results, but we can do better and we can continue to learn.”
