Jay Dasilva believes his best position is at left-back.
The Chelsea defender, who is on a season-long loan with the Addicks, played on the wing against Scunthorpe last Saturday.
And then he returned to his left-back berth for the 2-2 draw with Peterborough three days later – a position he feels more comfortable in.
Charlton boss Karl Robinson said Dasilva can play as a left-back, winger or number 10 having featured in all those positions in Chelsea’s youth teams.
Dasilva, 19, said: “Left-back is definitely my best position - but I can do a job on the left wing as well.
“If I’m needed to play there, I’ll play there.
“I’m definitely comfortable playing as a winger. The gaffer has made clear the roles and responsibilities for each position so I know exactly what I’m doing.”

Dasilva played further forward at Scunthorpe due to Charlton’s limited attacking options. Tariqe Fosu, Billy Clarke and Ben Reeves are still crocked.
He was chosen ahead of attacking duo Joe Dodoo and Karlan Ahearne-Grant.
But Ahearne-Grant made a serious claim for a starting spot after netting a 94th-minute equaliser against Peterborough, which saw the Addicks come from two goals down to rescue a point.
Dasilva added: “Everyone’s happy for Karlan - we’re very pleased. A goal is what he needed.

“It’s a big confidence boost and hopefully he can kick on from there.
“Not losing these games, it's very big for us because all the points add up.
“We would’ve liked to get the three points but it’s still a big point for us. We’ve still got one more game in hand so hopefully we can get as many points as possible and stay in and around [the top six].”
