JOHNNIE Jackson will not be rushed back again from injury after his latest setback saw him replaced at Scunthorpe on Saturday.
The Addicks skipper suffered a recurrence of his recent ankle/Achilles injury at the Iron and missed Tuesday’s win over Yeovil.
Jackson is currently receiving treatment and although confident he will be back sooner rather later, manager Chris Powell says it isn’t a decision which will be made in haste.
“He has had his scan and seen the specialist and he will be assessed over the next seven to 10 days,” the Addicks supremo revealed.
“We are hoping that he could be fit with getting the work in him over those next seven to 10 days so we will have to wait and see.
“John is a good player and obviously a key player for us but we want to be careful and make sure he is OK. If it is only a game or two he misses then fantastic, we don’t want anything long-term coming from it.
“We don’t want to force him out there when not completely right, we’ve tried that but of course the other problem flared up at Scunthorpe.
“The medical team is making sure he gets the best care and comes back right as rain.”
