KENNY Jackett has denied Millwall have already rejected a £2m bid for star striker Steve Morison from Nottingham Forest.
Reports elsewhere earlier this week claimed a formal offer had already been tabled by the Lions’ Championship rivals, a suggestion which the Millwall manager was quick to deny when asked by News Shopper this morning.
Jackett said: “I’ve had no call or bid at all from Nottingham Forest, the club who have been mentioned in the papers.
“I’m sure it is just speculation in the run up to January and the transfer window opening.
“Whether then in January there will be something when it opens I don’t know but as we stand at the moment it is not a situation where I would be encouraging it anyway.
“We want to try and keep our good players and try to build and improve on our squad ourselves. We don’t want to be a selling club.
“Our stand so far on Steve has been if a Premiership club comes in then we will see, but another Championship club is not something we would be interested in.”
The boss added: “Steve hasn’t asked me anything about it but December is December.
“When January comes it might change a little bit.
“In terms of at the moment we just haven’t had that conversation because the window isn’t actually open.”
