RICH OFFER: Retired Charlton defender Richard Rufus has announced he intends to donate the profits of two benefit dinners held in his honour to local charities. The ex-central defender, who played 323 times for the club, is estimated to have raised around £50,000 from two dinners in 2003 and last November, and will donate all profits from the events to a school for disabled youngsters, a cancer charity, a charity conducting research into sickle-cell anaemia and a local church. A testimonial match for Rufus is still planned.
CUP DATE: Charlton women's team will face West Ham United in the fifth round of the FA Cup following Monday's draw. The Addicks beat Wolverhampton Wanderers 4-1 on Sunday and will play the Hammers at Stonebridge Road on Sunday, January 30 (2pm).
BIG KICK-OFF: 2004 may have finished, but Charlton's community scheme will be kicking off 2005 with a bang with 20 coaching courses in the space of five days in February. Sessions range from week-long courses to those just lasting one day, with additional disabled and girls-only sessions across Greenwich, Bexley and Kent during the February 14-18 half-term break.
