CHARLTON manager Phil Parkinson dismissed speculation that midfielders Jose Semedo and Therry Racon may leave The Valley during the January window.
Portugese enforcer Semedo had been linked with a £1 million pound move to Bristol City by the tabloids.
Frenchman Racon, on the other hand, had been demoted to the bench since Charlton’s draw at Yeovil in November and was absent from the matchday squad altogether for the Addicks’ 2-1 win over Hartlepool on Tuesday.
But Parky was quick to play down the possibility of either of the 25-year-olds leaving SE7 this month, and went on to explain Racon’s current absence from the squad.
He said: “As far as Semedo to Bristol City goes, I don’t honestly know where that has come from.
“Racon has had a family bereavement so he’s gone back to France.”
The Hartlepool victory saw Frazer Richardson play his first full 90 minutes since mid-October in the 2-1 win at home to Huddersfield after a nagging hamstring problem.
And Parkinson revealed that another full-back may be back among the ranks soon with Kelly Youga expected to return to training shortly from a knee injury.
He explained: “Kelly is getting there. He’s progressing well, a bit slower than I’d have liked, but I’d be disappointed if he’s not back in full training by next week although the Leyton Orient game will be too early for him.”
