MARK-ING TIME: Mark Fish returned home at the weekend following a five-day stay in hospital. The South African defender lost a lot of blood from chest wounds sustained when he fell on to a glass table while playing with his son at home, and will be sidelined for at least three weeks. Hermann Hreidarsson suffered a tight hamstring against Newcastle United, but is still expected to feature against Villa on Saturday, while Jason Euell is also hoping to return to contention. Graham Stuart (back) is still ruled out, however.
FRESHEN UP: Charlton will tomorrow (Thursday) return from a short break in southern Spain that manager Alan Curbishley will hope has refreshed his side ahead of the final nine games of the season. But the boss has admitted he is troubled by several injuries at present. "There has been a common denominator in how we've fallen away over the last two seasons and that is a lack of bodies," said Curbishley. "Last year we were all over the shop trying to get 11 players out and we're in a similar position now. But we are trying to change things a little bit and do one or two things differently to keep things fresh."
WALK TALL: Schoolboy striker James Walker stunned Nottingham Forest and The Valley faithful last week with a sensational last-minute winning volley for the reserves. The 16-year-old gave the Addicks, who were 2-0 down, a 3-2 victory following goals from Gary Rowett and Adrian Deane. League leaders Charlton faced third-placed Southampton last night as we went to press.
CALL UPS: Jonatan Johansson has been selected for the Finland squad for their friendly against Malta next Wednesday, and Hermann Hreidarsson has been called up by Iceland, for their trip to Albania the same day.
TOUR TIME: A tour around The Valley planned for next month has proved so popular the Addicks are laying on a second date. The excursion to examine the inner workings of the stadium, from the dressing rooms to the dug-out and boardroom, is on Thursday, April 15 (10.30am), priced £12.50 adults and £8.50 for U14s.Call 020 8333 4040.
