MILLWALL assistant boss Joe Gallen has scoffed at rumours linking Jimmy Abdou with a move to League One rivals Leeds United.
Abdou has been out of first team action through injury since the Carling Cup win over Bournemouth, but a rumour swept The Den during Saturday’s draw with Carlisle claiming the real reason for his absence was because he was on his way to Elland Road.
However, Gallen was emphatic in his denial when asked by News Shopper this morning and added Abdou should be back in action for the Lions soon.
He said: “There is no truth in that as far as I know.
“I am sure Kenny Jackett would not welcome any bid for any of our players, let alone Jimmy.
“Jimmy has got a groin/hip fracture strain unfortunately.
“As we all know, he is a big part of our team and a big player for us.
“We want him back as soon as we can but it looks slightly like it will not be tomorrow night although hopefully for Tuesday at West Ham.”
