Ebbsfleet United Ladies 4-1 Wimbledon Ladies
FLEET continued their fantastic start to the season with a strong team performance which takes them away from the chasing group at the top of the table.
The game started well with a good passing move down the left ending with a slightly wayward shot from Lorraine Grinyer.
Ebbsfleet had more shots on goal than Wimbledon, but the game was still an end-to-end affair until the deadlock was broken on 20 minutes.
Hayley Barton went on a good run down the right and squared towards the Dons' keeper, who parried the cross into the path of Kelly Campbell and she coolly slotted a shot into the back of the net.
This gave Fleet the confidence they needed to push on and another good run from Barton caused confusion in Wimbledon's defence, which Jules Teague exploited by smashing in a shot from a tight angle into the bottom left the net.
Campbell added a third five minutes before the interval when another Wimbledon defensive error allowed the Fleet striker to head in a simple chance.
Wimbledon looked much brighter in the early stages of the second half and only some excellent defending from Tamar Upton, Bex Pattenden, Emily Wells and Kelly Philpott kept them at bay.
However, they did pull one back from a free-kick, but Barton eased their nerves by adding a fourth.
Fleet face a sterner test weekend when they face Denham, one of their main rivals for the championship.
Ebbsfleet United: Faye Baker, Tamar Upton, Bex Pattenden, Emily Wells (Harriet Hills), Kelly Philpott, Hannah Gilmour, Lorraine Grinyer, Jules Teague (Vic Wipfler), Kayleigh Weeding (Kaye Forster), Hayley Barton, Kelly Campbell.
