Lee Bowyer believes Charlton will make the play-offs this season.
The new caretaker boss won his first match in charge after beating promotion rivals Plymouth 2-0 yesterday.
Goals from Lewis Page and Michal Zyro moved the Addicks to within two points of the top six.
Bowyer said: “I went to a fans’ meeting two weeks ago and it was a bit doom and gloom and I was like ‘hold on, there are 36 points to play for’ or whatever it was when I went.
“Why can’t we get in the play-offs? We were only five points behind sixth place at the time.

“I’m a very positive person so people could say ‘why are you saying that? You're putting more pressure on yourself’.
“But I believe in this bunch of lads and I believe in their ability and I do believe we’ll get in the play-offs.”
Charlton were two-nil up against Plymouth inside 17 minutes - and Bowyer’s celebration for the goals were muted.
He added: “Yeah, it was hard [not to celebrate]. You can’t get carried away.
“That’s just one game, we’ve got nine to go. We’re two points behind [sixth-placed Peterborough] with a game in hand.
“Also, we’ve got two games in hand on [fifth-placed] Scunthorpe and they're four points ahead of us. So, that’s two ways of looking at it.”
Up next for Charlton is a trip to relegation-threatened Northampton on Friday.
