Harry Lennon has a one-year option in his Charlton contract.
The Addicks defender’s deal runs out in the summer and the club is likely to trigger the 12-month clause.
Ex-Charlton players Callum Harriott and Alou Diarra were in the same position as Lennon in 2016, and their contracts were extended by an extra year.
Lennon, 23, a product of Charlton’s renowned academy, returned to first-team action in December after recovering from a serious groin injury, which sidelined him for 13 months.
He has helped keep three clean sheets in five league starts since making his comeback.
Lennon was subject to loan enquiries at the beginning of the transfer window last month.
