Millwall boss Neil Harris wants to sign two players this month.
The Lions are yet to add to their squad with Harris admitting the club has had “bad luck” in the January transfer window so far.
Millwall need defensive cover for Shaun Hutchinson and Jake Cooper and more options in wide areas.
Harris told News Shopper: “I definitely want to bring two in. It’s never been an absolute must that we must bring two players in, one player in or three players in.
“It’s been can we add to what we’ve got? Can we make our squad better? Can we get the right players? We’re certainly trying hard to get the right players.
“We've had some really bad luck in the transfer window so far. Some players have been very close to coming in, but they've had an upturn in fortunes at their clubs, which is good for them in some ways, not for us.
“One minute you're close to doing something and the next minute it seems a million miles away. That’s the January transfer window, it’s completely different to the summer.
“There’s so much uncertainty. It’s a seller’s market and clubs at the top of the Championship and lower half of the Premier League, they're continuously changing their players and starting elevens.

“Players that are available, a week later they're not available. I understand that, I have no problem with that whatsoever. It’s what makes January so difficult. We keep going with the targets we've got.”
Steve Morison and Lee Gregory have been Harris’ only striking options for most of the season due to injuries to Tom Elliott.
And it’s been a similar story out wide with Jed Wallace and Aiden O’Brien hardly being rested during Shane Ferguson’s lengthy lay-off.
Harris added: “I read quotes that a striker is our priority but no. I’m really happy with my strikers.
“We need attacking options, definitely. I need defensive cover at centre-half, someone who can walk straight into the team and perform at the level that Hutch and Coops have.
“Attacking wise I need more options, Fred [Onyedinma] is definitely a centre forward who can play in wide areas, Tom Elliott has not been fit for a period of time consistently.
“But without Shane Ferguson, I’ve had Aiden and Jed as the only two players capable of performing in wide areas.”
Ferguson has returned to full training after missing the past six weeks with a knee injury.
