Ben Reeves insists Charlton’s squad is good enough to deal with Ricky Holmes’ departure.
Holmes, 30, is set to seal a move to long-term admirers Sheffield United today despite signing a three-year deal at the Valley last summer.
The Addicks winger has scored and assisted 12 goals this season and has been one of the club’s best performers in the past 18 months.
But Reeves says Charlton will be able to cope without Holmes, who was left out of the squad at Bury on Saturday.
The midfielder told News Shopper: “Ricky’s a very good player and everyone else in the league knows that.
“We just need to do that job and chip in. Hopefully I chip in, Marshy [Mark Marshall] chips in and Stephy [Mavididi] chips in. We’ve got a good enough squad to deal with it.

“I don't know the ins and outs so I can’t really comment on Ricky’s choice or whether it was the club’s choice [to sell]. But I know there were offers in the summer [from Sheffield United].
“The main thing for us is the group now. Whoever comes in or whoever goes out, we need to make sure we stay as a tight group and get the results.
“We’ve got a great squad. You've seen some of the players that aren't in the team at the moment. Patrick [Bauer], Jason [Pearce] and Tariqe [Fosu] were starters at the start of the season and one of the main reasons why we were up there in the league.
“So we've got those three coming back, and I’m sure there are others, but even Solls [Chris Solly] and Jake [Forster-Caskey] coming back at Bury. Jacko [Johnnie Jackson] performed well the other day against Oxford, too.
“There are loads of boys in the squad who can do well for us.”

The 1-0 win over Bury lifted the Addicks back into the play-offs.
And despite being 11 points behind Shrewsbury, Reeves is refusing to rule out a top-two push.
He added: “We need to get a run going like Blackburn did earlier in the season. It’s good to be back in the play-offs.
“But we don't want to be just in the play-offs, we want to be right up there.
“Bury’s a tough place to come and we showed great character. It shows we’re concentrated on what’s happening on the pitch.
“We've got a few Saturday to Saturday games now so it gives us enough time to think about the performance and improve.”
