Charlton will not sign free agent Cameron Stewart, News Shopper understands.
Stewart, 26, was on trial with the Addicks earlier this summer, and impressed in most of his games.
The winger left the club before the start of the season, with Charlton boss Karl Robinson refusing to rule out a future deal.
But News Shopper has been told that Stewart was an alternative to Ben Reeves if the MK Dons playmaker did not join the club.

After a summer of speculation, Reeves finally signed for Charlton two weeks ago, subsequently ending any chance of Stewart being offered a contract.
The former Manchester United trainee has been without a club since leaving Ipswich last summer.
He enjoyed a successful three-month loan spell with the Addicks in the 2013/14 Championship campaign, scoring three goals in 18 appearances.
For the rest of the transfer window, Charlton's priority is to bring in a striker.
