Charlton boss Karl Robinson says he hasn't spoken to Ben Reeves about a contract.
Reeves, who is a free agent after leaving MK Dons earlier this summer, was in the stands with his agent to watch Charlton’s 6-1 pre-season win over Ipswich.
Speaking about the midfielder, Robinson said: “I’ve never hid the fact that I like Ben Reeves. I don't know what’s happened but he phoned me today asking for a ticket and said he’d like to come and watch.
“I’ve always been an admirer of Ben. The fans of Charlton know he’s a good player.
“I haven't really spoken to him that much if I’m being honest. He’s come to watch the game, he's a free agent, and whether we have room in the budget I don't know.

“He just phoned to come and watch the game. Listen, we all knew it would raise eyebrows.
“The first thing a fan said to me was ‘It’s good management resting your payers in the stand to keep them ready for next week’.
“We haven't talked about a contract. There is still an awful lot to do - that’s if we can do it - I don't know if we can do it.”
