Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek is close to joining Crystal Palace on a season-long loan, according to reports.
The England Under-21 star will have a medical ahead of becoming Frank de Boer’s first signing as Eagles boss.
Despite being highly-rated by Stamford Bridge chiefs, Loftus-Cheek struggled for game time under Antonio Conte last season.
But Crystal Palace, who are the only top-flight club yet to make a summer signing, would offer the 21-year-old Premier League minutes.
And the Telegraph says Palace have fended off competition from Brighton and Newcastle to land Loftus-Cheek’s signature.
The Lewisham-born man is known for his skill and power in midfield and could be a valuable asset to the Eagles.
