Diego Poyet’s contract at West Ham has been terminated by mutual consent following a difficult spell at the club.
The 21-year-old came through Charlton’s youth system and signed his first professional contract in May 2013.
Poyet made 20 league appearances for the Addicks before attracting interest from West Ham, who he joined in the summer of 2014 on a four-year contract.

The former England U17 international only played 10 games in two years at West Ham and has now been released.
He told the official West Ham website: “I have enjoyed my two seasons with West Ham and would like to thank the club for giving me the opportunity to fulfil a dream of playing in the Premier League.
“However, following discussions, it was agreed that we would mutually terminate my contract to enable me to continue my development elsewhere.”
Poyet is now a free agent and will be able to sign for another club outside of the transfer window.
