Tottenham Hotspur remain interested in Ebbsfleet United’s Shilow Tracey after the young midfielder’s brief trial with the Premier League club, News Shopper understands.
Ebbsfleet, who are six points clear of their nearest rival at the top of the National League South, gave Spurs permission to take Tracey on a week-long trial last week.
Ebbsfleet boss Daryl McMahon told News Shopper that the highly-rated 17-year-old could return to Tottenham for another trial after impressing the club, who are said to be sending scouts to watch Tracey in action this week.
“It went OK for him, he’s probably going to go back for another trial,” McMahon said.

“They’re going to watch him on Tuesday night in the FA Youth Cup, and that’s all we know really.”
When asked whether there was any indication that Spurs were impressed with Tracey, McMahon added: “I think so, yeah – I believe so.
“We’ll have to wait and see, they’re not going to dive in straight away.
“He was there for three days, three training sessions – he’s back playing with us now.
“We’ll see how it goes and there’s no pressure on Shilow, we’re happy with him at Ebbsfleet.”
Tracey, a product of the Ebbsfleet Academy, has only made only senior appearance for the non-league club but scored for the Fleet U18’s last week and is an exciting talent, according to McMahon.

The 32-year-old manager, who enjoyed spells with Leyton Orient, Stevenage and Ebbsfleet as a player, said: “He’s a very good player.
“He was late a few times in pre-season – which a lot of young players are – but since then he’s sorted himself out and been absolutely terrific.
“He’s worked ever so hard and he’s committed to the club and he’s committed to improving.
“He’s an excellent young talent and if nothing comes out of it with Spurs, I’m sure he will be featuring in our first team in no time.
“He’s a terrific talent and I really believe in his ability.”
