Charlton head coach Guy Luzon was disappointed not to take all three points from the City Ground after the Addicks drew 0-0 with Nottingham Forest this evening.

The Israeli saw his team squander chances in the first half, with Simon Makienok going close with two headers in the opening 45 minutes.

And it was the same story after the break with two efforts from Makienok and Patrick Bauer superbly saved by Forest keeper Dorus De Vries.

Luzon admitted his frustration but added he was also content with the point claimed.

“We should have won, we are disappointed as we had great chances to win the game in the first half and second half,” said the 40-year-old.

“We played positive football and created chances to come back with three points.

“Nottingham Forest’s keeper was man of the match and that showed how much we dominated during the game.

“I’m happy with the clean sheet and I’m happy we came away from home and created six or seven chances to score.”

Despite not converting their opportunities, the result means Charlton are still unbeaten and have picked up five points from three tough looking fixtures.

But Luzon feels his side’s performances overall means there could have been even more points on the board by now.

He explained: “We deserved more, at least seven points not five.

“OK, we have played two away games but I’m always one to come back with three points.

“Now we have a game against Hull City on Saturday and when we have the chance to score, we must do it.”

Substitute Reza Ghoochannejhad had to be withdrawn with six minutes remaining due to an injury, but Luzon was impressed with the Iranian’s cameo.

He said: “Reza played well, he brought a positive reaction in the team,

“His knee was kicked, but I hope he’ll be OK.”
