Letter to the editor: In his latest tirade against parking wardens, Bill Leman repeats his misunderstanding of the term ‘common sense’ (Those Involved In Parking Tickets Should Get Their Act Together, News Shopper, March 20).
He lists “must have no common sense” among the alleged qualifications for being a warden.
Everyone has common sense, otherwise it would not be common. It’s just common sense.
What Mr Leman really wants is Bill Leman clones. In any case, only a tiny proportion of parking offences are enforced.
Strangely, the offending drivers all seem to be experts on pavement cycling. I witnessed one incident recently when a woman cycling on the pavement was diverted on to the road by a car parked broadside across the same pavement.
