GLAMOUROUS football fans are aiming to give footballers' wives and girlfriends (WAGS) a run for their money' by becoming Millwall's hottest fan (MHF).
Lions fansite Wake Up Millwall is running a competition to try and find the prettiest supporter.
Its' editor Paul Smith came up with the idea after noticing more women down at The Den and using his site.
He said: "The response so far has been huge.
"It's getting very competitive and the voting's not even started yet.
"The prize is the honour of being Millwall's 2008 hottest fan.
"It would be great if Millwall could print the winning picture in the match programme or maybe even offer free tickets and a presentation on the pitch.
"What would be fun is if the winner could model the clothes for next season's catalogue."
More than 40 women have entered by adding their pictures to the 2008 Hottest Millwall Fan Competition group on social networking website Facebook.
Michelle Benson, 27, entered the competition for a laugh.
She said: "I didn't think too much about the photo I put in and just wanted people to know I supported Millwall through thick and thin.
"The pictures of some of the other girls are really stunning.
"It is just a shame I don't look half as good, mind you I have got three children and they age you a bit."
The children's centre worker, of Devenish Road, Abbey Wood, added: "I don't think it matters whether you are glamourous or not, just as long as you feel good and are happy within yourself."
Naomi Fitt was asked to enter the competition by her boyfriend and she was happy to do so because she thinks football fans need to be more glamourous.
The 22-year-old model from Norwich said: "There are some very pretty girls taking part.
"We need to give the WAGS a run for their money."
Mother-of-two Laura Bradshaw, from Hither Green, enjoys getting dressed up for matches.
The 22-year-old said: "Football has turned more and more glamorous but I think its up to the individual how they wanna turn up for matches.
"I personally like getting dressed up, putting a bit of make-up on and so on although I also love having those lazy days where you stick on some trackie bottoms and go to the pub and just enjoy a good match.
"I am in this for the fun but if anything came of it that would be great."
Women have until March 29 to add their picture to the Facebook group or email it to Wake Up Millwall
The winner will be voted by the fansite users and members of the Facebook group and announced in the middle of April.
- You do not need to be a football fan to enter News Shopper's modelling competition Wow Factor 2008.
Last year thousands of votes were cast for the hundreds of young women and men who entered and this time there are even more prizes up for grabs.
