STUDENTS pulled on their overalls to help give a youth centre a new lease of life.
Nine pupils from Deptford Green School are giving the Evelyn Arches Youth and Community Centre in Childers Street, Deptford, a complete makeover.
Lewisham Council donated materials, tools and overalls so the youngsters could paint the centre and work on the garden.
The youngsters, aged 15 and 16, are undertaking the project as part of their Prince's Trust course, which aims to develop personal, social and work-related skills.
The centre is used by more than 45 youngsters for activities such as table tennis, pool and after-school clubs.
Centre project co-ordinator Donna Boyle, 43, said: "It has given the youngsters a chance to have their say on how the club looks."
