The owner of a miniature Sydenham brassiere is ‘sick to her stomach’ after vandals shot out her windows.
Anita-Clare Field, 47, runs La Petite Bouchée, an eatery in the back of a vintage 1971 Citroën HY Van located inside Sydenham’s Wells Park.
Opening last August, the pint sized pop-up was repeatedly vandalised over the weekend (July 17 and 18) with all but three windows destroyed.
Mrs Field, who runs La Petite Bouchée with wife Caroline, 54, said she was alerted on Saturday morning to some damage.
The chef, from Westwood Hill, said: “We were told one window was smashed, it looked like when a vehicle had kicked a stone up.
“I went down first thing to measure up the window and went to report it to the park keeper. As I walked back round the other way I felt sick to my stomach as I saw they’d also smashed the windscreen.”
Some of the damaged windows
As nothing was taken, Mrs Field did not think the incident was that severe.
But she got a call around 8.30am yesterday (July 19) bringing more bad news.
She said: “I received a call saying all the windows had been done, but nothing has been taken.
“We had a gazebo on the front seat and that’s still there. Everything is as we left it.
“There are air rifle bullet marks, they’re very clear. It doesn’t take a genius to work out it was someone with a gun, an air rifle. There are cartridges around.
“They put their fist in or something to make the holes bigger. We were standing here in absolute disbelief that anyone could do that deliberately. We’re heartbroken.”
The brassiere, which can seat five inside and up to 25 outside, trades on weekends but was forced to close.

Mrs Field said: “It’s going to cost a fortune to put all the security measures in place. We need to install CCTV inside and steel shutters.
“We’ve never had a problem before, we are due to have our first birthday in August, we nearly got to our first birthday without a mark.”
A spokesman for the Met Police confirmed they were investigating the incident.
