A MAN is recovering after being shot in the neck by a gang of armed robbers.
Four black men robbed a 25-year-old man as he returned to his car from a flat in Pagnell Street, New Cross, at about 6.45pm on Sunday.
The gang stole more cash from the flat before driving the victim, against his will, to Roundtable Road, Downham, where they tried to rob another black man.
The second victim, 46, resisted and was shot in the neck, before the suspects escaped in three cars in various directions.
The wounded man was rushed to Lewisham Hospital where he was in a stable condition on Monday afternoon.
The case is being handled by the Met's Operation Trident team, which investigates gun crime against the black community, focusing on drug- related shootings.
Detective Constable Phil Dalton said: "Someone must have seen the victim being robbed in Pagnell Street and the address burgled.
"I would also like to hear from anyone who saw a suspicious convoy of three cars driving in the area between 6.45pm and 9.30pm and anyone who saw anything suspicious in Roundtable Road."
If you have information on these offences, call DC Dalton on 020 8785 8804 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
