NO trains will run through Barnehurst on Sunday (Jan 12) as Network Rail will continue emergency repair work after a landslide at the station yesterday.

Kent-bound Southeastern services resumed today (Jan 10) after 150 tonnes of spoil and seven trees were removed from the line overnight.

Yesterday, services between Kidbrooke and Barnehurst were blocked, with some diverting via Sidcup and Woolwich or cancelled. London-bound trains were still running.

A Southeastern spokesman said: "We have been advised by Network Rail that emergency works need to take place on Sunday to repair damage caused by a landslide.

"Unfortunately, this will mean that no trains will be able to run on this line and replacement bus services will be provided."

A Network Rail spokesman said wet weather was the cause of the landslide.

He said: "We worked all night and removed 150 tonnes of spoil and seven trees so services could resume. 

"There are still some trees left, but they are not in danger of falling onto the tracks. It's a temporary fix and we are going to have to come back to continue work.

"If you think you are going to be travelling on Sunday, please check before you travel.

"We would like to thank passengers for their patience."
