POLICE are investigating the attempted abduction of an 11-year-old girl.
The incident occurred on October 18 just before 8am in Riverdale Road, Erith, while the girl was walking to school.
A white pick up truck was parked on the right hand side of the footpath and as the girl walked passed the van, the driver opened the window and shouted at her to get in.
She refused and ran back up Riverdale Road.
The man then chased her for a short distance before returning to his vehicle.
The white transit pick up truck had a large dent and rust in the drivers side door with a rear cage with two locking doors.
It is believed there were two men in the vehicle at the time, one of them is described as over 5ft 5ins tall, average build in his late 20's with short spiky brown hair.
He was wearing shiny black tracksuit bottoms and a white t-shirt.
The second man is described as being in his late 30's with a round chubby face.
Police say it is an isolated incident and officers are working closely with the girl's school and other local schools.
Anyone with information should call Bexley CID on 020 8284 9240 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
