CLAIMS by former deputy London mayor and former Bexley Council leader Ian Clement that he was seduced and drugged by a Chinese spy have been questioned by City Hall.
Mr Clement, 44, of Heatherbank Close, Crayford, who has been trying to sell his story, made the claim in an interview with a national newspaper.
He said while he was in Beijing in the lead-up to the last Olympic Games he invited a Chinese woman he met at a party to his hotel room.
Once there, he says, she drugged him and rifled through his belongings looking for sensitive information.
City Hall says all staff going to China were given Blackberrys cleansed of any information and Mr Clement was not involved in any important decisions.
Mr Clement lost his £127,000-a-year job at City Hall and pleaded guilty in October to fiddling his expenses.
He is currently serving 100 hours of community service, and is subject to a curfew and a 12-week suspended jail sentence.
