A person who was threatening to enter the water from Erith pier last night (May 17) was helped by emergency services.
Gravesend RNLI sent out a lifeboat at 9.51pm, and London Ambulance Service and Met Police also attended the incident.
An RNLI spokesman said: “The lifeboat arrived on scene and after some time the person was taken into police custody.
“Once the person was away from the river the lifeboat was released from service and returned to station.”
LAS Hazardous Area Response Team tweeted: "We have assisted on scene at an incident at Erith pier with @MPSBexley".
Met Police were unable to comment on the incident.
