A POLICE car responding to an emergency call overturned and crashed into a Sydenham back garden this morning (August 22) leaving three officers injured.
When firefighters arrived at the scene in Kirkdale at around 1.30am tthey found the marked vehicle was in the bushes and paramedics were putting neck braces on the casualties.
A spokeswoman for the London Ambulance Service said all three patients were fully conscious and had only minor injuries. They were taken to Lewisham Hospital for treatment.
The damage was clearly visible this morning, with skidmarks on the road leading towards Brickwood Close, tyre marks in the grass and a smashed fence, with pieces of debris still in the garden.
Neighbours said the house's occupants were not in at the time and claimed the police car may have been chasing a motorbike when the incident happened.
