A RECORD of the personal experiences of people across the area during the Second World War has been made available online.
The University of Greenwich has created the Memories of War project over the last two years.
Led by social historian Dr June Balshaw, more than 200 people have been interviewd about their wartime experiences as civilians, evacuees and in the armed services.
Videos of interviews, rare diaries, documents and collated memories are now online at memoriesofwar.org.uk for all to see.
Visitors to the site are also being encouraged to contribute their own memories of life during the war to add further insight.
Dr Balshaw said: "It offers a tremendous teaching and learning resource for students and educators at all stages of their careers, from primary schools to post graduate researchers.
"It celebrates the lives of so many people who have frequently been unrecognised in the past."
