A TEENAGER has been arrested after being chased down by a PCSO on a bicycle.

The 18-year-old man was arrested this morning after PCSO Rob McCabe from Crofton Park witnessed him cycling on the pavement and knocking over a member of the public.

The incident took place at around 10.25 on Dilwyn Close in Sydenham, and PCSO McCabe chased the teen on his pedal cycle for around two miles.

Despite getting a puncture the officer was able to stay with the youngster and guide officers to the location.

He then assisted in detaining the male who was arrested for public order offences after he became violent upon arrest.

The man is currently in custody at a south London police station.
