FIVE people were arrested when police foiled a burglary at Eltham’s Mecca Bingo hall last night.
Part of Eltham Hill was closed off for three hours following the incident, which happened at around 11pm.
Police say four people wearing balaclavas had entered the premises carrying a hammer and cable ties.
Officers from the Met’s Trojan unit were alerted and arrested five people at the scene.
Two men, aged 22 and 19 were arrested on suspicion of aggravated burglary.
A 23-year-old and 19-year-old man are being held on suspicion of commercial robbery while a 22-year-old woman is suspected of conspiracy to rob.
They are all in custody at a south London police station.
A police spokesman said no money was taken.
