SEARCH dogs helped to find a missing man who was believed to be suicidal.
The teams from Kent and Berkshire were brought in yesterday (November 9) to search for William Andrew who had been missing from Penge since Monday morning.
Mr Andrew was found by dog Dillon and handler Jo Joslyn from Berkshire in the grounds of Crystal Palace Park yesterday.
Their find came after an eight hour search by 19 people and eight dogs from Lowland Search Dogs (LSD) in the woodland areas of Crystal Palace, Beckenham and Bromley.
Detective Inspector Jane Corrigan from Bromley police said: "I'd like to thank the Lowland Search Dog Teams for their help in ensuring that this search had a happy outcome.
“They’re an absolutely fantastic organisation and we’re so grateful to them, they’re all volunteers and we can’t praise them enough."
LSD is a volunteer dog organisation which assists the emergency services and is on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
