BANKS of the Thames will come to life next weekend with an open air museum.
Thames World - a Liquid History opens next Saturday(June 19) and runs until Monday featuring live performances and information on the river’s history.
The event will take place along the Thames Path in Greenwich and at sailing charity the Ahoy Centre, Borthwick Street, Deptford.
Stories of the river over the past five hundred years will be woven into drama and musical performances.
It will include memories of the Irish, Eastern European and West Indian communities along with those of dockers and ship yard workers..
The event has been created by students from Lewisham College and the theatre group Deptford Stories Company.
