Police have flocked to a quiet residential road after shots were fired in Camberwell.
The incident happened in Lilford Road near Paulet Road just before 11.20pm yesterday (August 23).
Intial police enquiries found a number of shell casings at the scene.
No victims have yet been identified.
A crime scene was put in place as the incident was dealt with but it has since been lifted.
No arrests have been made as police enquiries into the circumstances continue.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: "Police were called at 23:18hrs on Friday, 23 August to reports of shots fired on Lilford Road, SE5.
"Officers attended and number of shell casings were recovered.
"No injuries. At this early stage there have been no arrests.
"An investigation is underway.
"Anyone who witnessed this incident or has footage should call police on 101 or post on X @MetCC quoting 177/13AUG.
"To remain 100 per cent anonymous call the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or visit crimestoppers-uk.org."
