Chipotle is that one fast-casual spot everyone has been raving about, and for good reason.
Known for its fresh, customizable Mexican-inspired dishes, this restaurant chain has been making food dreams come true since 1993.
With a menu packed with burritos, tacos, bowls, and salads featuring responsibly sourced meats, fresh veggies, and house-made salsas, it was high time I joined the Chipotle fan club.
So, my colleagues and I headed to the Chipotle in Leicester Square, where we were greeted by a sea of customers tucking in to their creations.
Naturally, I went for the chicken burrito—simple, classic, and basically fool-proof.
I didn’t hold back on the toppings: brown rice, roasted veggies, salsa, guac, and a mountain of cheese (because, let’s face it, more cheese is always the right choice).
Now, before the burrito purists start sharpening their pitchforks, yes, I skipped the kidney beans.
I know it’s burrito blasphemy, but they just don’t do it for me.
One by one, we shuffled down the assembly line, picking our food for the day. Some colleagues went for the vegan option, while another opted for the burrito bowl (also known as the "naked burrito").
When my burrito was handed over, it felt like I was holding a small, deliciously stuffed baby. Heavy, bursting at the seams, and every bite was a taste of heaven.
The chicken was tender, the veggies paired perfectly with the sour cream and cheese, and I was in food nirvana.
We all sat down, barely said three words to each other, and before we knew it, our stomachs were stuffed, and our brains were in a burrito-induced bliss.
With the ability to build your own burrito, bowl, or taco with top-notch ingredients, it’s no surprise Chipotle is blowing up on social media.
And now, the popular chain is rolling out Kids Meals for the first time.
Little ones can choose between the "build your own taco" option, with soft or hard-shell tortillas, or the quesadilla kids’ meal.
Our Chipotle experience was fantastic, and I’ll be back (maybe even to give those kidney beans another shot).
