A man in his 20s is fighting for his life in hospital after a shooting in Woolwich.
The incident happened in Ogilby Street near Granby House at 10.35pm yesterday (June 10).
Officers, including armed police, were called to the scene but could not locate the man.
Police were later informed that the victim attended a hospital suffering from a gunshot injury.
He remains in hospital in a critical condition.
A crime scene has been put in place as police enquires into the circumstances continue.
No arrests have been made following the incident.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at approximately 22:35hrs on Monday, 10 June to reports of a firearm discharge in the vicinity of Granby House, SE18.
“Officers, including armed officers, attended the scene but no victim could be located.
“Police were subsequently informed that a man, aged in his 20s, had attended a hospital suffering a gunshot injury. He remains in hospital in a critical condition.
“A crime scene remain in place at the location.
“No arrests; enquiries into the circumstances continue.
“Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 or ‘X’ @MetCC and quote CAD 7941/10Jun.”
