A rapist Met Police officer, the owner of an XL Bully which savaged a man and two brothers who murdered a stranger over a mobile phone are among the south Londoners jailed in May.
Some of these criminals will spend the rest of their lives behind bars for their awful crimes, while others will walk free in weeks.
Here's are the names and faces of south Londoners who judges have put behind bars this month.
Billy Magee
Billy Magee, 45, of Congress Road in Abbey Wood, strangled his ex-girlfriend and threatened her with a knife.
Magee subjected Gemma Brummitt to abusive and controlling behaviour during their relationship, including threatening her with a knife on Christmas Day.
On another occasion the 45-year-old grabbed her by the throat and strangled her.
When their relationship ended he began stalking her, leaving threatening voice messages and turning up unannounced.
Magee was jailed for two years and three months.

Christopher Moore
Christopher Moore, 40, ran away after his XL Bully shredded a man’s arm to the bone.
Moore's enormous XL Bully savaged a dad who was walking through Pasley Park, Walworth, on his way to buy some baby milk.
When Moore managed to regain control of his dog the victim, who had suffered life-changing injuries, asked him to phone an ambulance but Moore replied “sorry mate, I can’t” and ran away.
When the incident drew widespread media attention the 40-year-old handed himself in at a police station but the XL Bully has never been found.
Self-proclaimed “dog-lover” Moore has a history of dog offences – he has two previous convictions relating to attacks carried out by other dogs belonging to him and in 2021 he was fined for causing unnecessary suffering to a dog by hitting it.
Moore was jailed for three years and three months, and banned from owning a dog for 10 years.

Brian John Doye
Former firefighter and shop owner Brian John Doye, now aged 77, raped and sexually abused three young children over the course of 40 years.
Doye rose up the ranks of the London Fire Brigade in the 1970s and 80s, eventually overseeing multiple fire stations across south east London.
He later retired and opened a convenience store in Woolwich, before moving to South Wales.
But the whole time Doye had been hiding a dark secret – he was a paedophile who had raped and sexually abused three young children over the span of four decades.
Heartbreaking victim impact statements from the two victims revealed how it had impacted their childhoods, their relationships and their entire lives.
One victim said: “Sexual abuse and rapes were a regular part of my young life.
“As an adult I soon realised the impact of Brian taking my virginity as a young child, he had no right.
“My mental health has always been a problem. In my adulthood I’ve suffered most of my life with depression.”
In May Doye was finally brought to justice and jailed for 28 years.

Cliff Mitchell
Former Metropolitan Police officer Cliff Mitchell, 24, from Putney, repeatedly raped a woman and child.
Mitchell was found guilty of 10 counts of rape and three counts of raping a child under 13 relating to two different victims.
As he was jailed for life with a minimum of 13 years one victim told him: “You disgust me. I hope you suffer for the rest of your life.”
The other said: “You are a pathetic excuse of a man.”
During the trial, jurors heard how one of Mitchell’s victims was forced by him to get into his car and only managed to escape by saying she had to get out of the vehicle because she felt sick.
She was later seen running through traffic by members of the public before a passer-by noticed what was going on and managed to get her in her vehicle.
In a 999 call played to the court, the distressed woman told the operator “he’s kidnapped me”.

Reuben Lloyd Johnson
Reuben Lloyd Johnson, 31, burgled a woman's home in Abbey Wood.
A terrified woman who woke up to find him in her home said the trauma has been overwhelming.
Johnson told her: "Sorry, I went in the wrong house. I thought this was my friend’s house.”
The woman later found headphones, speakers, bags, a tablet and cash were all missing.
He was jailed for eight months.

Nyran Thomas and Nah'shun Thomas
Brother Nyran Thomas and Nah'shun Thomas stabbed 29-year-old Kalabe Legess to death in Peckham Rye Park over a mobile phone.
The pair were cycling around the park armed with a knife on December 30, 2022.
At around 8pm they approached Legesse, who was sitting on a park bench, and threatened him for his mobile phone before stabbing him in the heart.
Kalabe’s family said: “Nothing can bring back our son Kalabe. He was doing nothing wrong on the night that he was killed and we will never understand why he was murdered over a mobile phone.
“The defendants have not shown any remorse for what they did to him. We have recently passed the anniversary of his death; Christmas and New Year for us will never be the same again.
“Kalabe was loved by everyone he met and had an exciting future ahead of him. He will never be able to have a family of his own, and our family will never have him back.”
Nah’shun was given a life sentence with a minimum of 25 years and three months, while Nyran was given a life sentence with a minimum of 19 years and ten months.

Billy Raddon
Billy Raddon, 22, from Sutton, was jailed after he was linked to keyless car thefts and knife point robberies.
An investigation was launched on January 3 when a Range Rover which had been stolen from Sutton was stopped by Surrey Police officers.
The driver was arrested and officers discovered he had been paid to transport the stolen vehicle.
They later identified Billy Raddon, 22, from Sutton, as being involved in the theft of the Range Rover.
He was arrested at an address in Morden where officers found a safe with over £3,000 in cash, keys and cocaine.
They also found an electronic device which is believed to be used in keyless car thefts, known as relay thefts.
He was jailed for nine years.

Rajenthiram Mithinraj
Rajenthiram Mithinraj, 34, of Bromley Road in Beckenham, attempted to rape a woman who could “barely walk” due to intoxication in a Travelodge car park.
The incident took place on October 11 last year when delivery driver Mithinraj and friends were drinking in the car park of the South Croydon Travelodge.
Prior to the attempted rape, a receptionist at the Travelodge phoned police telling them Mithinraj's group were being very disruptive and were drinking in the street.
A judge said it was "very unfortunate" that the police were too busy to attend until much later.
The victim said both Mithinraj and one of his friends had raped her, and told the court the incident had left her mental health in turmoil.
A jury acquitted both men of rape but found Mithinraj guilty of attempted rape.
A judge told Mithinraj: "She was clearly incapable of consenting. You knew that."
He was jailed for six years.

Muraad Musse
Muraad Musse, 24, of Tilson Gardens in Clapham, pushed over an employee while robbing the Apple store in Bluewater.
He entered the shop with an associate who distracted a staff member by speaking to them.
Musse then pushed the employee to the floor and stole a mobile phone worth £1,600.
The pair fled Bluewater but were caught after they were identified by CCTV.
Musse was jailed for one year and nine months.

Tyler Charter
Tyler Charter, 35, of Windsor House in Croydon, had thousands of indecent images of children and discussed raping kids.
Intelligence from the National Crime Agency (NCA) showed Charter was suspected of grooming young children.
The Met Police launched an investigation which found 4,233 images and videos of children on Charter’s Telegram account.
Officers also found conversations discussing the abuse of young children, some as young as three years old.
When he was arrested in September 2022 he was seen trying to dispose of evidence on his devices before officers quickly stepped in and seized them.
He was jailed for six and a half years.

Mojtab Moradi
Mojtab Moradi, 37, of Plumstead, took part in a gun exchange in Sidcup.
Moradi and Robert Reading, 50, from Rochester, organised an illegal exchange of firearms.
The incident occurred in September 2022 when a minicab with Moradi inside was pulled over in Days Lane, Sidcup.
Moradi had just been witnessed leaving an alley near an Indian restaurant on Maidstone Road carrying numerous bags, including one from Primark, and loading them into the minicab boot.
A thorough search of the vehicle revealed a 0.22 inch calibre Rimfire double barrelled Derringer Pistol, covered by a tea towel, and rounds of ammunition in a toiletry bag from the Primark carrier.
DNA traces proved that Reading had supplied the pistol.
Reading's vehicle had also been spotted in the vicinity just before the arrest.
Moradi was also caught with 16 wraps of crack cocaine in his pockets and as he was detained, two burner-style Nokia mobile fell from the side of the car where he had been sitting.
On the same day, Reading's address in Castle Street, Wouldham was searched by Kent Police who found a Birmingham single barrel sawn off shotgun in the loft.
Moradi was jailed for five years while Reading received a six and a half year sentence.

Paul Debenham
Gun-wielding home invader Paul Debenham, 30, pushed over a 76-year-old woman and threatened a 96-year-old woman with a hammer.
He has now been jailed for 12 years for targeting elderly people in home burglaries in Orpington.
On October 31 last year he forced his way into a house on Spur Road belonging to a 78-year-old man and a 76-year-old woman.
He pointed a handgun at the man then pushed the woman to the floor before stealing their car.
Then just two days later, on November 2, Debenham used a brick to smash a glass panel in the back door of a 96-year-old woman’s home on Blenheim Road.
He then rushed in and started to threaten her with a hammer, demanding she hand over car keys and jewellery.
Debenham was caught after he left a box containing a bottle of alcohol with his fingerprints on at the Spur Road incident.

Ahmed Deq Mohamed
Ahmed Deq Mohamed, 20, of Acacia Close in Surrey Quays, raped a girl under 13.
The incident took place on June 16 last year. He was then arrested five days later.
He denied the offences but a jury at Inner London Crown Court found him guilty of assaulting a child under 13 by penetration.
Mohamed has now been jailed for four years and six months.
Detective Constable Oliver Colville, who led the investigation, said: “I would like to praise the victim for initially coming forward to police, and for reporting this repulsive behaviour from Mohamed.
“The compelling video account provided by her assisted with the forensic evidence that we had, making it enough to convict Mohamed."

Colin Moore
Colin Moore, 57, of Grove Lane in Camberwell, raped and sexually abused a teenage girl in the 1990s.
He took advantage of a girl who was under 16 when the offending began in 1995.
His abuse took place over the next four years in west and central London.
In 2020 the girl, now an adult, reported the abuse to the Met Police.
Moore was arrested and at trial Moore was found guilty of four counts of rape and five counts of indecent assault.
Detective Sergeant Laura Harcombe from the Central West Command Unit said: “Colin Moore is a sexual predator who manipulated and abused a vulnerable young girl he knew."

Danny Lee
Armed robber Danny Lee has been jailed again for drug driving offences.
The 43-year-old is already serving a six year prison sentence after he stuck up a newsagents on Shawbrooke Road in Eltham on December 10 last year, holding a gun at the shop worker and demanding money.
CCTV footage showed Lee pointing the gun at the victim’s head and assaulting him with the butt of the gun several times, causing minor injuries to his head.
Now Lee has been given a further 9 weeks to serve after an incident on November 12 last year.
Lee had been driving Subaru Levorg car on Woolacombe Road in Kidbrooke when he failed to stop for a police officer.
He was later found to be unfit to drive through drugs.
He was handed a 3 years and 11 month driving disqualification alongside the nine week prison sentence.

Joel Henry
Joel Henry, 40, of Lakeview Road in West Norwood, made the 60-mile journey from West Norwood to Hastings each day to deal drugs.
He was arrested in St Leonards on November 8 last year where he was carrying a burner-style phone.
Data showed that each day he had been travelling from his home to Hastings to deal crack cocaine and heroin.
He had used the phone to send bulk messages advertising drugs.
Henry denied being concerned in the supply of crack cocaine and heroin, but a jury at Chichester Crown Court found him guilty.
Henry was jailed for seven years.

Scott McAndrew
Scott McAndrew, 33, of London Road in Croydon, approached an elderly man from behind and kicked him so hard he smacked face down onto the concrete.
The thug gave no reason for the attack but police said it seemed he did it for fun.
The attack took place in Redhill town centre on the afternoon of October 12 last year.
McAndrew spotted the man, in his 80s, struggling outside a shop.
The thug put his hood up to avoid being recognised then approached the victim from behind and kicked him.
McAndrew then fled the scene leaving horrified onlookers calling for help.
The elderly man was rushed to hospital by ambulance as he had suffered broken ribs.
When Surrey Police put out a media release asking for the public’s help six people came forward and McAndrew handed himself in.
He has now been jailed for three years after admitted grievous bodily harm.

Harry Owusu-Manu
Harry Owusu-Manu, 39, torched his pregnant ex-partner's Battersea flat while she was inside with her young daughter.
They were treated for smoke inhalation after the attack and the London Fire Brigade later concluded that the fire had been started intentionally by using a doormat.
Detective Constable Megan Gittins said: “It is no exaggeration to say Harry Owusu-Manu made his ex-partner’s life a misery with his behaviour.
“The victim’s home and new baby items including clothes, cot and toys were all destroyed.
“Owusu-Manu refused to accept that she did not want to be in a relationship with him anymore and set about causing her physical and mental harm.
“He began posting derogatory and Islamophobic stories on Instagram but his behaviour soon escalated when he attempted to murder not just his ex-partner but her young daughter and unborn child."
He was jailed for life with a minimum term of 22 years.

Michael Wynter
Michael Wynter, 34, of Crayshaw Road in Brixton, raping a woman while she was asleep or unconscious..
Police described him as an "extreme sexual deviant" after he pleaded guilty to raping a woman in Pinner between 2019 and 2021.
He was jailed for seven years.
Detective Constable Adam Conibeere, who led the investigation, said: "I would like to praise the victim-survivor who handled the entire investigation and court process courageously and I can only hope this outcome will help to provide some comfort and bring the closure she deserves as she tries to move on with her life.
“She showed incredible strength and heroism in coming forward to report the matter after lengthy consideration, due to the fact she did not want anyone else to suffer at the hands of Wynter."

Jabbard Mabounda
Jabbard Mabounda, 31, of Crosby Walk in Brixton, carried out an unprovoked, homophobic attack on two men.
Both men had been waiting for a bus after attending a Black Pride event on August 19 last year when they were attacked.
The 31-year-old was sentenced after police identified him using CCTV following the attack in Brixton Road that left two men with injuries that sent them to hospital.
He was jailed for 12 months.

Dean Vincent and Reyon Vincent
Dean Vincent, 27, of Battersea Park Road in Battersea, and Reyon Vincent, 28, of St Louis Road in Norwood, for drug dealing and possession of a gun.
On June 30, 2022, officers carried out a drugs warrant on Heyford Avenue in Vauxhall to known “gang member” Dean Vincent.
Only moments before, officers watched Reyon Vincent get out of a minicab with a number of bags and go into the house.
They watched Reyon return to the minicab without the bags, before following and stopping the car.
Reyon was also found to have cannabis and 123 grams of heroin concealed in his waist band.

As Reyon was detained, officers entered Dean’s address and within a communal cupboard outside his front door, found 369 grams of heroin inside the same bags that they suspected had been dropped off before.
Found in the same cupboard, was a large brown Primark bag containing clothes, where police found a handgun and a revolver under the top layer of clothes - both of these were loaded.
Officers also uncovered around £2,000 worth of cannabis, a large hunting knife and zombie knife and counterfeit cash.
Officers searched the area behind the kitchen kickboards with Dean Vincent’s address and found thirteen rounds of 9mm ammunition and four large blocks of heroin weighing 399 grams.
