Hidden in a luxurious Georgian townhouse near to the one and only Harrods sits Geode, a restaurant with a feature bar, conservatory, and bottomless brunch of dreams.
Geode, in Beauchamp Place in Knightsbridge, has recently launched its new Sushi & Hundred Hills Rose Brunch – with unlimited sushi and sparkling wine.
It takes place every Saturday from 12pm until 4pm with a DJ, live artists, and incredible food.
From £100 per person, diners can enjoy a starter each, unlimited sushi, a sharing dish each, sides and a dessert, all with bottomless wine.
Starters include seabass carpaccio, salmon sashimi on karashi sumiso dressing, Hamachi carpaccio, and a mix of sashimi.
Sushi includes nigiris and makis such as salmon and avocado, asparagus miso and a California roll.
Mains are wide-ranging and include anything from a chargrilled rib-eye or seabass to salmon teriyaki or baby chicken.
I went with my boyfriend for a Saturday date-day, and it was the perfect place to get a bit merry before enjoying the stunning streets and shops which surround the restaurant.
We went for a sashimi mix and the salmon sashimi on karashi sumiso dressing to start, and this gave us the perfect taste of what was to come.
The fish was really fresh, it melted in the mouth, and the dressing flavour really complimented the salmon.
Washing down perfectly with some sparkling rose, it was time to indulge in UNLIMITED sushi which is pretty incredible if you ask me, We tried one of everything, because why not, and in addition to what I previously mentioned in the sushi offerings, we also had a cucumber and avocado maki, and three types of fish nigiri – salmon, Hamachi and yellowtail.
We went for seconds on the salmon and avocado, but tried not to get too carried away as we prepared for yet another course of sharing dishes – even though we could have sat there all day.
I went for the chargrilled seabass and my boyfriend the baby chicken, and although by this point it was hard to fit anymore in, the bursting flavours, freshness of the food and aesthetic presentation made it pretty hard not to finish.
The rose was flowing and so was our food and we were having such a lovely time listening to the saxophonist who was playing at the bar on the floor below us.
The dining room is a conservatory, so it was bright, summery and felt like a boujee treat day out.
The desserts which are included in the menu were a classic Japanese cheesecake and matcha pancakes served with strawberries and cream.
Even for someone with a sweet tooth it takes a pretty good dessert to be able to fit it in after bottomless sushi, and I’m not even afraid to admit that we demolished the dessert too.
Being rose-tipsy probably made it easier, but I’m not complaining as we had so much fun with such great vibes and such great food.
I’ll keep the shopping afterwards a secret, but it’s safe to say that a good bottomless brunch with great alcohol and food definitely helps… Hundred Hills 2018 Preamble Rosé delivers a vibrant array of ripe summer strawberries and raspberries from the warm and generous 2018 vintage, which is the ideal accompaniment to sushi.
