A motorcyclist has died after a crash with a car that was being chased by police on the M25 near the Dartford Crossing.

The incident happened near the M25 anti-clockwise exit slip road at J30 near Lakeside at around 11.40pm yesterday (April 14).

Essex Police and paramedics were called to the scene and found a motorcyclist injured.

The rider was pronounced dead shortly after.

The car was involved a pursuit with officers from Kent Police before the crash unfolded.

A mandatory referral has now been made to the Independent Office for Police Conduct following the incident.

Part of the roundabout was closed for around 10 hours before it reopened at around 10.30am today (April 15).
