After a three-day long stand-off with police at an address in Catford, a man has been arrested.
At around 2am this morning (Thursday, March 28), police forced entry into the address on Daneby Road.
A 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of making threats to cause criminal damage with intent to endanger life.
His foot was injured by a police dog and the man was taken to hospital as a precaution.
There was no one else inside the address.
Police cordons remain in place as enquiries are carried out.
Residents from neighbouring homes have been allowed to return to their houses.
Detective Superintendent James Derham, from the local policing team in south-east London, said: “I would like to thank the local community for their co-operation and patience while this matter has been ongoing.
"I do not underestimate the impact this has had on their day to day lives, especially those who have been displaced.
"I can assure them that our priority has been to bring the matter to a safe conclusion for everyone involved as quickly as possible.”
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “The incident at an address in Daneby Road SE6 has now concluded.
“At around 02:00hrs on Thursday, 28 March, officers forced entry to the address and a 26-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of making threats to cause criminal damage with intent to endanger life
“He sustained an injury to his foot from a police dog and was taken to hospital as a precaution.
“There was no one else inside the address.
“Police cordons will remain at the address for the foreseeable while further enquiries are conducted.
“Residents displaced from neighbouring addresses have been allowed to return home.”
