A man is fighting for his life after he was stabbed during a fight on board a train between Beckenham Junction and Shortlands.
At around 3.56pm on Wednesday (March 27) police received reports that two men were fighting while entering a train at Shortlands railway station.
A shocking video shared online showed one of the men wielding a huge knife.
In the video, it seems as though one person is on the floor of the train against the door while the other, with a knife, is stood over him.
The man with the knife can be seen walking backwards and forwards along the width of the carriage.
Passengers sat in the carriage of the train can be heard reporting the incident, asking for police and ambulance crews.
One of the men sustained serious injuries consistent with being stabbed and he was rushed to hospital with life-threatening injuries, British Transport Police (BTP) said.
Enquiries are ongoing and there have been no arrests so far.
While police deal with the incident, Southern Rail services which usually run from London Bridge to Beckenham Junction will now terminate at Birkbeck.
It is unclear when the disruption will end, but tickets are valid on alternative services between the two stations.
BTP are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident to contact BTP by texting 61016 or by calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference 397 of 27/03/2024.
Alternatively, you can call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
