Pie and mash is a British staple. Whether tucking into a creamy chicken and mushroom or a gravy-filled steak and ale, you can never go wrong with a good old pie.
While other regions in the UK might not be as much of a fan, London is home to some of the best pie-and-mash shops in the world.
Created following a rise in popularity among the working class, pie and mash shops were often on every high street in London.
Nowadays, there are a great number less of pie and mash shops, but there are still a handful in London that offer you the taste of a classic pie and perfect mash.
So you don't miss out on the classic London meal, these are the pie and mash shops in London you need to visit, green tiles and all.
