A crew from London Ambulance Service was deliberately reverse rammed while responding to an emergency call in Bexleyheath.
At 12.05pm on February 24, the paramedics told police that a car intentionally reverse rammed their ambulance whilst they were travelling to an emergency call.
The car then fled the scene and police found it in Erith.
A man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting emergency workers, dangerous and disqualified driving, drug-driving, uninsured driving, and causing criminal damage to the ambulance.
A search of an address in Erith led to the recovery of three firearms, ammunition and a quantity of Class A and Class B drugs.
This resulted in the man being further arrested on suspicion of firearms possession and intent to supply drugs.
The man was taken into custody and remains in a London police station.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police told MyLondon: "At 12:05pm on Saturday, February 24, colleagues at London Ambulance Service reported that a crew answering an emergency call were travelling in Bexleyheath when the driver of a car deliberately ‘reverse rammed’ into their ambulance. The car was then driven from the scene.
"Officers from the Met’s Road & Transport Policing Command attended the location. An immediate investigation led to the car being identified and rapidly located in Erith.
"A man was arrested on suspicion of assaulting emergency workers, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified and while uninsured, driving while over the prescribed limit for drugs and criminal damage to the ambulance.
“A subsequent search of an address in Erith led to the recovery of three firearms, ammunition and a quantity of Class A and Class B drugs.
"The man was further arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearms and possession with intent to supply drugs. The man was taken into custody at a London police station where he remains."
