The death of a man is being treated as non-suspicious after a body was found at a golf club in Crayford.

The discovery was made by police at Barnehurst Golf Club in Perry Street yesterday morning (February 12).

An incident response officer and members of the hazardous area response team from London Ambulance Service also attended.

Officers were initially searching for a man yesterday on the evening of February 11 who was reported missing in Barnehurst.

The search was assisted by the police helicopter and London Fire Brigade’s drone unit.

The man’s next of kin have been informed.

A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police confirmed his death is being treated as non-suspicious.

The full statement from Metropolitan Police says: “On the evening of Sunday, 11 February officers were involved in searching for a man who had been reported missing in the Barnehurst area.

“The search was assisted by the police helicopter and London Fire Brigade’s drone unit.

“On the morning of Monday, 12 February the body of a man was found at Barnehurst Golf Club.

“His next of kin have been informed.

“The death is not being treated as suspicious.”

A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 8.52am today (12 February) to reports of an incident on Perry Street, Bexleyheath.

“We sent resources to the scene, including an incident response officer and members of our hazardous area response team (HART).

“Our first medic arrived on scene in less than six minutes.

“Very sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.”
