The body of a male has been found in the River Thames in Greenwich.
The discovery was made by police in Victoria Parade just after 7.20am today (February 8).
Police enquiries are now ongoing to confirm the male’s identity and inform his next of kin.
The death is being treated as unexpected.
A spokesperson for Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 7.22am on Thursday, 8 February.
“The body of a male was recovered from the water in Victoria Parade SE10.
“Officers are working to confirm the male's identity and inform next of kin.
“The death is being treated as unexpected pending further enquiries.”
