Comedian Rob Beckett and Bromley’s Local Hero, Hayley Milne, joined hundreds to switch on Bromley’s Christmas Lights on Sunday, November 19.
The event was organised by Your Bromley, the Business Improvement District (BID) for Bromley town centre.
Mr Beckett, who has regularly performed at The Churchill Theatre as well as his TV appearances on shows such as Channel 4's 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown, was born and raised in Bromley, and Local Hero Hayley has raised over £32,000 for the PTA at Bickley Primary School.
The event started at 12pm with performances from local dance and performing arts schools including Vibe Arts, PQDA, Studio 74, Skylark Dance Academy, Danceworxs and All the Arts.
They were followed by live music from Viva Acappella and the Bromley Rock Choir.
Ventriloquist John Kimmons, who appears in Cinderella at The Churchill Theatre, also took to the stage before singer-songwriter Debbralee Wells got the crowd singing along to an array of festive favourites.
Frances Forrest, Your Bromley BID manager, said: “We were thrilled to have Rob Beckett turning on the lights this year.
“Rob is one of Bromley’s most famous and best-loved residents and he did a great job!
“Christmas has really arrived in Bromley now, our lights are on, our Christmas market and funfair are in place and we are ready for the build-up to the big day.”
