Around 200 people have been evacuated due to a suspected gas leak on a major road in Greenwich.
A possible leak was reported in Greenwich Church Street just before 11.30am today (November 9).
A 25-metre cordon is currently in place and around 200 people have been evacuated as a precaution by fire crews.
Road closures have also been put in place as the incident is being dealt with.
Bus routes 129, 177, 188, 199, 286 and 386 are also on diversion, according to AA maps.
Crews from East Greenwich, Plumstead and Lea Green fire stations are at the scene alongside partner agencies.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade said: "We're currently at the scene of a suspected gas leak on Greenwich Church Street in Greenwich.
"A 25 metre cordon is in place and around 200 people have been evacuated from the area as a precaution. Road closures are also in place.
"The Brigade was called at 1127.
"Crews from East Greenwich, Plumstead and Lea Green fire stations are at the scene alongside partner agencies."
